Gallery сцена/szena, in collaboration with Badlon Magazine, announces an open call for artists working across different media.
The project is dedicated to the study of the Russian-speaking artistic field as it has evolved in various international contexts. The focus of the project is a close analysis of shifts in artistic methods and research approaches under conditions of cultural displacement, the formation of artistic language within new institutional environments, and the themes that become relevant beyond familiar geographical frameworks. This open call is conceived as a way to identify current directions in artistic practice, document their diversity, and create conditions for professional dialogue.
The selection resulting from the open call will serve as the first phase of a two-year program, within which the selected artists will have the opportunity to present their work sequentially in exhibition and publication formats.
The project includes:
— A group exhibition in Paris;
— A group exhibition in Moscow at the gallery сцена/szena;
— A collaborative publication produced together with Badlon Magazine.
The exhibition concept will be developed based on the submitted portfolios and will evolve in collaboration with the selected participants. The project involves curatorial work, research exchange, and public presentation of its outcomes.
